Captain John Lightfoot Trollope, MC & Bar, (Wallington, 30 May 1897 - Hove, 21 October 1958) was a British First World War flying ace, who was the first British pilot to shoot down 7 enemy aircraft in one day, on 24 March 1918.〔O'Connor, M. “Airfields & Airmen – Ypres”. Leo Cooper, 2001. p.102. ISBN 0-85052-753-8〕 Four days later, he claimed his last 3 kills of the war (bringing his total to 18), before being shot down by German ace Paul Billik.
